440 Six Pack Phenolic Spacer Kit Recommendations???

Thinking about installing a carb/intake spacer to help alleviate the hard starting when hot. I have a stock 440 six pack and just shy of an inch clearance between the hood and cleaner. Des anyone have any recommendations on a spacer kit. A little research on the web lead me to the Six Pack Carb Phenolic Spacer Kit 1/4" P/N: H6PACPK, $95.00. Anyone try this before or have any other kits they recommend?

On another note, I'm not much of a carb ninja. Is there much to this installation? Is it a simple bolt on, or will my carbs require any adjustment after installation? Will the change in height affect any of the linkages or are there any other concerns besides just clearance with the hood.

Help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Steve

Hey Steve the best fix for heat soaked restarts is blocking off the heat crossover from the heads to the intake. I got a Fel-Pro valley pan with "the heat blocked" then drilled a 1/8 hole in each blocking area to allow just a little heat to activate the choke pull off spring.  :2thumbs:

Would this be in conjunction with the carb spacer kit or instead of it? I'm reading a lot of differing opinions. Do you have a part number? Thanks for your help.

I'm in Florida and it's hot most of the time. This is instead of spacers and SOP for most aluminum intakes. No part # for ya just contact any supplier.

Thanks bud. I'll look into it. It's not that hot here often, but still an annoyance.
