The wife and I are flying there Friday and flying back to texas Monday. Just asking what is there to do. We are going to visit her cousin who just moved there. I know we are gonna see the arch. But she said I can go to a muscle car show or museum if there is one. So is there one. If not what is there to do. I'm 34 and she is 25 if that helps.

The old Chrysler plant on the southwest side of the city is closed & bulldozed, unfortunately.  There is a transportation museum in that area of town that has a bunch of historic trains and a few oddball cars including a Chrysler Turbine car.

The Arch.  It's not big like the WTC towers but its way over the Statue of Liberty.  You can take an elevator ride up to a little room at the top and look out the windows.  (Call ahead, sometimes they sell out for the day.)  There's a little museum underneath the legs and the arch grounds are a nicely kept grassy park right near the riverfront.

Forest Park is farther west from downtown.  It's very big and it has a bunch of stuff in it.  A high quality Zoo which has free admission oddly enough, you just pay to park.  A good art museum.  Etc.  The place was originally designed for the 1903 World's fair (held in STL) by the guy who did Central Park in NYC, and then the city kept the area as a permanent park afterwards.

The "City Museum" is hard to describe.
http://citymuseum.org/site/
It's not really a museum at all.  A local modern artist bought himself a huge warehouse in the city, and made sort of a sculpture park out of random objects for people (all ages) to climb on.  Has a bar & cafĂ© inside, people hold weddings there sometimes, etc.  Strange but very memorable and not just for kids.

"The Loop" (mentioned in Nelly's rap lyrics) is a several blocks of a college-trendy-urban-feeling area near Washington University.  A good place to park the car and move around on foot.

-----------------------------------

Just for reference, STL is generally a HOT, HUMID city in the summers.  (The big rivers in the area add up to raise the moisture levels higher than average for the Midwest.) But the weather is variable and can change quickly, so you really have to check the forecast here right before you leave to know what to dress for.  The daily temperature highs are capable of changing by 20+ degrees from one day to the next.

the science center right near the zoo is really cool. free to get in, but a few things there cost money if you choose to do them. the planitarium with the science center does the lazer light shows. Grants farm is neat and takes a train ride through the area where wild life reigns. stopping in the center where you can taste beverages and check out the clydesdales. i believe all still free, except for food purchases.  plenty of gambling boats if your into that. gateway classic car museum a few minutes west of the arch in illinois has cars to see for a dollar entry fee per person. fast lane classic cars in st. charles mo. isnt too far from the arch with some nice classics to check out. look that up on the comp. there is alot to do in the area. like said before with the city museum and the zoo being free. you can have a very busy weekend without spending a ton of money.

I recommend going to Fast Lane Classic Cars for your car fix, as they always had some cool Mopars in stock when I went there.  The zoo and the Arch museum are also good choices.  The museum has a collection of all of the Peace medals back to pre-Revolutionary War......

I was there for work once and went to Andria's Steakhouse.  Prime Rib was amazing.

Yea, the strip clubs aren't bad to go to either!
