Ok 68 Charger I have a new head unit good 6x9 in the back and 4 inch in the dash. I want a little more base punch and need some advice for a sub in the trunk. I DO NOT want thump thump. I listen to rock and metal.
Thanks

I've been looking into closely matching the RMS ratings of the speakers to the head unit. It's tricky as everyone posts Max watts but not RMS. I bought a TDK Boombox rated at 20 watts (With 2x 6 1/2 speakers.) and can't get over how good this thing ROCKS! Really sweet quality of sound with very strong bass/mids/highs and volume for just 20 watts. (You may not need a sub?)

If you're just looking to add more low end to your music, look into the Infinity Basslink and Bazooka tube powered subs or one of the other various "all-in-one" subwoofer systems. These tend to be relatively compact and will add enough bass to sound better than a factory system but not overpower everything else and rattle the car apart. I've installed more car stereos than I can count at this point so feel free to PM me if you've got any questions...
