hello everyone, new to charger forum, would like your input. I just bought a 1969 charger from original owner here in southern Arizona. about the car, 1 owner car, owner now 84, garage kept entire life, no rust dents or dinks anywhere on vehicle, jack did tell me he changed the 318 to a 383 5 months after purchase at dealer wanted more power, has I believe 727 automatic with floor console, interior is black, 2 front seats need recovering rest is very good. car was red but he had it painted that general lee orange back in the early 80's. factory air, I'm a disabled vet 51, so spending what I did guys scared me a little. oh, underneath of vehicle has no dents or rust. being as honest as I can the tranny does slip bad, and the headlight doors work great but the lights flicker on and off. that's about it. I paid 16,000 guys did I do o.k.  thanks for your input.

You have done a good thing.
A '69 Charger is one of the best looking cars ever built.
The group of aficionados surrounding the mark and model will prove to bring much happiness and camaraderie.

Welcome!
And it sounds like you scored big time.  An original AZ car with no rust and the big block swap is already done, that's a dream come true!  Any more info or pics would be great, I'd love to see it!

$16K for a car that many would call a barn find is more than ok!   :2thumbs:

Pictures will help determine if you did ok, sounds like you paid around market for the car. Can't beat a 1 owner dessert charger!

You did yourself the single biggest favor that you could possibly do when it comes to picking out a '69 Charger - an original southwest car with no significant rust.  The rust issue has done more to destroy these cars than accidents, blown engines, trannys, interiors rotting, etc.

Scaregrabber

Too bad he changed colour but overall condition is more important and it sounds really nice. A rebuilt trans is fairly cheap and you'll be on your way.

Just go through everything before you do any major damage.  Clean terminals and make sure the grounds are good, and then check for cracked hoses and rotten rubber which are usually the problems with cars from dry climates. :2thumbs:

Great job getting it for a good price.

Welcome to the forum. I'm looking forward to seeing your new toy as well.

Ghoste is running the 69 Registry.  All you have to do is send him the info on your car.
