engine numbers

hi where on a 440 are the engine numbers?   e.g. on my 340  on the block below the left head its got 340 030180 stamped on a machined pad at the block/head join.  i need to find this number for rego,is it the pad near dizzy?  thanks Phil

Yes, ID pad near Dist. on Raised blocks.
350-361-383-400 "B" engines are on machined surface near front of pass. side head.
