Hi guys,  can anyone recommend a good place to get a 26" radiator shroud from?  mine is long gone and its about time I did something about it before next summer.

Thanks

I think you can get them about anywhere that sells reproduction stuff.  Try Mancini or BEA or even a Chrysler dealer.

Got mine from Year One a few years back.

Ok, thanks guys.
It only became a problem waiting in a queue to get into a car show last summer. I've got an existing stock type  7 blade rivited type but am also looking at putting on an external front mounted electric type via a manual switch. That said, its not addressing the root cooling cause of air getting moved around but not through the radiator, apparently Ma knows best eh  ;)

The rubber air seal on the leading edge of the hood helps too.  I see quite a few cars anymore missing those for some reason.

Hey, hadn't even considered that either , thanks Ghoste  :2thumbs:
Just checked and yes, its missing too. Had forgotten the strip should even be there.

Its raining quite hard here now but I got out for a run on Friday night to a mates 45th birthday party about 30 miles away, weather was clear and crisp so no cooling issues
Quite a nice night drive out through the rural backblocks. I did a headlight wattage & wiring upgrade a while back so no problem there either. Anyhow, its about midnight on my way back, cloudy with no moon and I come around a bend and there's this old guy standing out in the road next to his car trying to flag someone down.

He had the hazards on but its a single lane each way with no berm and drop off deep ditches either side, I honked, slowed down and went past further up to find  somewhere to turn around. In the 2 minutes that took, more cars were coming past and fast, its 80km limit there bit no one observes it. I was crapping myself that the old guy would get run down.
When i turn around, I pull along in front of him, its at a veggie shop driveway but a taxi has just pulled up too.
I'm talking to the elderly guy but he's not making much sense, he's quite confused and doesn't know where he is and has run out of gas in his little Toyota. Me and the the Indian taxi driver want to push the car into the shop driveway and get the old guy in the car to steer bit he's struggling to find the keys and release the park brake and put it into neutral.
Eventually he finds them before I have to go through his pockets and we push it.

He has no phone and can't tell me his daughters number correctly or much else cause he's in such a wound up state. Just about to call the cops cause I think the guys needs more help than I can give then he comes out with his sons name and road he lives on, which is about another 70km away. I ring directory service and call the son and get an answer phone message.  The phone reception is crap and keeps dropping out.
Then the old guy Keith aged 82 by this stage comes up with another cell number for his daughter, so I call her. She answers on 2nd ring and I explain the situation. She's upset, been trying to call him cause he's been missing all day but she's gone away for wknd an is 3hrs away. Fortunately, Then the son calls back, and he's concerned too and him and wife are on the way with a gas can to drive him home. Good.
So, I sit the guy in my car and we talk about his life and  farming and stuff. Now he'd calmed down a bit and help was coming he was feeling a bit more positive. Turns out I know of his family , they farm in the same district my parents farmed in and I know where their farm is. We talk beef prices and the changes he has seen in industry and generally, he was born only a few miles from where his farm is and never been too far out of the district.

He'd just been out for a drive but couldn't find a gas station to take his caltex card or even credit card ! and only had $8 cash to put in and the attendant wouldn't give him any credit, or even a damn chocolate bar, what a prick. So then ,he's headed out of the gas station and got on the wrong country road and ended up miles from anywhere and is understandably dis orientated and has low blood sugar and just too tired.

We sat for over an hour and talked and then the son and his wife turned up with gas, his car fired right up and I had a qick chat with the son about his dad and driving in the daylight maybe in the future. Nice guy though and glad it had a good ending, was just so concerned he would wander out into the road on the blind corner and get hit in the dark.

bit of a novel, it didn't start out that way, nobody likes getting old and past it eh
