hi I've just taken delivery of my charger and lying on the trailer was a large nut( looked 5/8 but is to big for 5/8 and sloppy in 11/16) it has a captured washer approx 1' 1/8 in diameter .any ideas where it has shook loose from?thought it was rear shock nut but there still on it. hope someone can narrow down my search . really don't want something to fall off    thanks Phil

Hey Phil. congratulations on your latest acquisition.  :2thumbs:

Can't help you with your nut problem. Having said that though, it may not even come from your car. May have even come off something else and has been left laying about.

Tomorrow is promised to no one.......drive your Charger today.

Just drizzling here and a little bit foggy.
re: loose nut..... I know when we picked up the cars (for Elko) there were always nuts laying around and often they're just from the chains that keep the cars in place.
Sorry to hear about the chips, shouldn't happen but nobody cares enough these days to make sure it doesn't. But in the end it's only cosmetic and the important thing is a good, straight body.
Looking forward to pics when weather permits.

thanks    pics tomorrow ,weather permitting that and I've left the camera in car at storage :slap:  truck driver swears nut wasn't there when he checked car in Sydney (approx 2 hours from me) so I'm thinking its come from suspension somewhere, flat face of washer/nut is polished like its from a shock mount or something but i checked both rear shocks while it was up on truck ( in the PORING rain  :eek2: )not them

In my opinion, if the nut came off the car........it wouldn't look new or shiny.   :Twocents:

When you talk about it fitting wrench sizes poorly, did you try matching it up to a metric size?

John_Kunkel

Yeah, probably a 17MM left over from the last tow.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

:2thumbs: I would agree, there shouldn't be any metrics nuts/bolts on it... at least unless someone has changed something...

It's a beautiful car Phil. It's a real shame about the chips though.   :'(

thanks   I've got my fingers crossed that shipping insurance will cover damage in transit , owner of company seemed to think it might be so when we talked today so hopefully it'll be fixed :2thumbs: meanwhile i still intend to reg her up and drive it.

It shouldn't even be an issue really, they should just come good.  I know real life doesn't work that way, but it is what they should do.
