A buddy of mine his brother in law is looking to buy this 71 charger r/t. What do you guys think about it . I noticed that it is missing the fender tag. And I am not to sure but I didn't think you could get a 4 speed with air. Guy told him no less than 35,000.00 Any info would be helpful hate to see this guy get ripped off . Sorry if somebody on here owns it not trying to offend anyone just being careful.

I'm not too up on the 3rd gens but I'd say $35k is pretty steep for no fender tag, non-working A/C and aftermarket sunroof (among other things). It looks real nice though.

It's a very nice looking car fo sho. No fender tag......red flag for me for the money. Non-op A/C......not a deal breaker to me. I'm with Bull on this... $35k????  :Twocents:

With all this thrown out there, if you love the car contact the seller and make arrangements to lay eyes on it, drive it and like that. If you still love the car wave your offer, cash, in his face and see what's what. Be forewarned.....bring someone to ride shotgun carrying big money on you person. Just sayin' because I don't trust anyone.

A lot of nice work went into this car. If the missing tag and non original sun roof is all that takes away from it's originality I see it as good value. Also hard to see making a car like that for that price.

I asked him to see if the guy has the fender tag and if he could any pics of the vin numbers on the rad support and the cowl and trunk opening lip. And the dash.

Like I said not bashing the car it is a real nice car just think for that kinda money should be able to prove its not a base charger with all of the r/t stuff put on the car. That's why I am concerned
about no fender tag. Just hate to see someone spend a lot of money for a car that could possably be a fake.

Nice work on grafting the late model sun roof on there

It is true. knowledge is power. A fair price can be had when you know what you are buying. My point is if very little was original it is still a very nice car and to make it from a plain donor to what it looks like would take much money. The difference would be showing it as something it may not be. We don't see many of those cars anymore. And a clone can be driven and enjoyed with greater ease.

Also the description says "correct 440", doesn't say matching #s. So is it matching #s or a correct date coded block?

air and a 4 speed 440  was not an available option  in 1971 , but having said that theres always the old adage with mopars" never say never" money talked real loud back then. 35K is a bit steep considering no fender tag and non matching motor, you'd have to see a build sheet to know for sure

It is not a numbers matching car, it is not a correct car, has no documentation to speak of. It is a very nicely restored 3rd gen that will get lots of attention and most likely take a lot of trophy's. How much is it worth? He is lucky to have the bid over $15000. 3rd gens just don't bring big money unless they are numbers matching and well documented. This one is not. We will see if it sells and if a real buyer comes out or just an Ebay scammer. If reserve is at $35000 that car aint goin anywhere.
