So last Saturday me and my bro went out to Home Depot and got a brand new grill. Got this one http://www.homedepot.com/p/Char-Broil-Gourmet-3-Burner-TRU-Infrared-Propane-Gas-Grill-with-Side-Burner-463251713/100659435?N=ch#BVRRWidgetID
I'm kind of excited to actually start cooking on a grill. Before I used Weber charcoal grill, you know the tiny one, you can cook like 4 hamburgers on it at a time. Then we got a tiny propane one, but it only has one hot spot so you have to juggle meat on it to have it cooked properly. If you cook hamburgers on it, it would catch on fire and then it would create mess. So it was only good for hot dogs.
What do you guys have and what do you prefer?

You will enjoy it. My infrared Char-Broil cooks evenly and fast. Raw chicken cooks perfectly, as do ribs. No need to par-boil. I picked up one of these http://thermoworks.com/products/thermapen/ to help with figuring out temperatures. Have a great Memorial Day everyone.  :2thumbs:

I have a Brinkman charcoal grill. Been using it for 10 years. I've been wanting a new one but everything I look at is so cheaply built.I won't have a gas grill.

I've tried out mine and I liked it. I can put in different flavored wood chips for that flavored steak, etc. but I didn't bother to do it. I like being able to cook in 10-15 mins without flare-ups like I used to have with charcoal grill.

I have a 3-burner gas Weber going on 10 years old now. I rebuilt it once already, replacing the burners and starter. Weber was great, the burners were still under warranty and they sent me new ones free of charge.
I cook everything from burgers to hot dogs, spare ribs, chicken, steaks, veggies, etc.  :drool5:
The burners are a little hotter on the right side where the controls are, so if I want something to cook slower I just put it on the left side.
I've tried a smoker box, didn't do squat.

If I have to replace it someday maybe I'll go bigger or get a dual-grill with a smoker.  :drool5:

I have been using the Weber Performer for about 15 years now and love it.  It uses a small propane bottle just to start the charcoal.  The best rib eyes in the world.....

I prefer charcoal but since I bought a gas grill, I use it 4/5 times a week.  Still have the 25 year old Weber charcoal is I want to use it. :2thumbs:

I like going to my favorite burger joint. No grille cleaning, no spiders in the propane lines, no unexpected, empty propane tanks, no dried out grille cover stuck under the deck covered in wet leaves because it blew off, no pressing the igniter button 217 times, & I can usually get a cold beer while I'm waiting for the burger.

Have gas, but prefer charcoal. Sometimes the Fuel taste is in the burgers too heavy and I can't stand that.

We have a gas BBQ. In all my years I've never had a fuel taste on anything I've ever cooked up on it. That's news to me.
Ours comes with a hot plate.  :shruggy:

I like the fact that we can BBQ even on total fire ban days during our long hot summers. (charcoal BBQ's are not allowed on those days).

We bought a new CharBroil this year too and love it!  Ordered it online as the deal was better, delivered to my door, and only took a couple hours to put together solo.  Already figured out where the hot spots are and worked great for the large group this past weekend. We grill a lot so the propane is nice and easy and the cover has Velcro tabs to hold it better to the wind.  We even grill during the winter, just shovel a path in the snow!  :2thumbs:

I could not decide, si I have both.  I have a nice gas grill and a very large charcoal grill/smoker.  Mmmm, now I a hungry, some ribs on the smoker sounds good for dinner.

I liked Webers but didn't see one with side burner at the store. And they were more expensive than CharBroil. If this one lasts me a few years I'll be happy. I got cover for it. I wanted side burner in case I take it when we go camping so I can boil water, etc.
