Are you sanding primer? If so, you should be wetsanding it with 400-600.

When I painted my Charger I sanded the high build primer with 400. Then sealed it. It then sat for six months.Sanded the sealer with 600 wet sand, resealed, then paint and clear.
I am now into the fun stuff- wet sand with 1000, 1500, 2000, cut and buff.
