very nice ride JPL

Yup, 3rd generation chargers are one of the most overlooked ,beautiful ,pieces of machinery out there .I ignored these chargers for years . In the coming years ,more folks will be priced out of the second generation and come to realize that there is another close alternative . Then of course ,these prices will go up as they already have. Nice ride sir.
Mopars are like the Hot Wheel/Matchbox cars from when I was a kid ...  Bad A@@ and Cool!!!

I agree.  :2thumbs:
Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."?

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

I guess there was three 1970 Daytona's made unofficially.  I wonder what happened to them?

I've seen an old mag. advert., I can't remember where it was, I will need to try to find it, that had a Red with white stripe & wing 70 Daytona {it may have just been a 69 Daytona that they used it the photo} in the Advert. for the 70 Scat Pack, "Dodge Announces Scat City", "The 70 Dodge Scat Pack is Road ready"...

To be fair, post a poll on the Ford and Chevy forums. Ask them what is the best year for a Charger. Or we can keep polling here until someone gets their desired year voted for.

I vote MOPAR!

The watermelon car was a recent reconstruction.  The purple one is the only one that's alive from back in the day AFAIK.  I think it's still back in my hometown, Hays, Ks. (former home of the car's nest, Wheels-n-Spokes)
Although I'm not quite sure.  The Junemans' moved to Lawrence, Ks. to be with their son who was a walk on @ University of Kansas basketball team.  You may have heard of that team, they're kind of a big deal.  I might add they just signed the #1 recruit in the country to go along with all the other high ranked kids.  They say the best committed group Self has ever recruited.

In the pic of the house being wiped out & carrying the roof towards the big white quonset & stopping destruction right before it, it is most likely where the purple Daytona is/was along with whatever leftover collection of everything that Jerry didn't sell.

If you look @ the back of the Daytona picture you'll see plywood starts new at about 10'.  That's a shortcut exit into the shop & there's an overhead door about 20' away.  I imagine out of all the rigs in his museum, that car was one of them that he wanted out of there 1st in case something ever happened.
