It is always a good thing when a car comes back from Redi-Strip.......

That was a good car you bought Tony... :2thumbs:
Thanks Jim. I was quite nervous while the car was at Redi-Strip. All I could think about was somebody forgeting about my car in the tank and having it disolved into nothing. :eek2: I felt much better once Roger had the car back in his shop. The dent in the quarter panel was able to be fixed without any metal replacement.

Yes - I was in the same boat with a couple of cars he did for me....thankfully they turned out fine!

Here is a shot of the hood which was solid, and the little bit of rust on the driver's side that was hiding under the paint. If you look underneath on the passenger side rear frame you can see the sun shining through the holes that were in the trunk floor. Thankfully the frame was rock solid everywhere.

If you are looking for someone to take that rot-box off your hands, let me know.   ;)

The metal work has started.

Here the rust spot in front of the rear wheel on the drivers side is repaired. The fender had a very small dent that they were fixing.

In the first and third photos you can see a small patch of metal that was replaced in the driver's side floor pan. It had a few very small pinholes.

Oops again. That picture is of somebody elses car.

Here is the trunk floor after some sandblasting.

moparchris

Looks like it's gonna be a real dream car.  Keep up the great work!!
Did they put in a one piece trunk panel?  It kinda looks like it, but I thought the one piece panels wouldn't fit if the quarters stayed on?

69hemidaytona

That is a two piece trunk floor. The pieces are butt welded and the weld is ground smooth. Here are some bodywork photos. They were able to get the dent in the right rear quarter straigtened with little to no filler.

69hemidaytona

The nose was straight and rust free.

Work on the body continues.

Tony, car looks great - but I have a dumb question... when were the bodywork photos taken?  A while back, or recently?  Just curious...

While this probably isn't a challenge for several of you guys out there, but can anyone spot the four separate Hemi-only subframe reinforcement items visible in the picture below?  There are three pairs (l & r) plus one single item visible.  To my knowledge, there's only one other specific thing done to the Hemi subframe (over and above a 440's subframe) which is not visible in this photo.  Always looking to learn more, however, which is why I'm throwing this out there...

I see all 4 2 at leafspring box and 2 traiangular at the back above the trunk ext
