Pushrod ends question

Hi all,

Do the lifters work the same on  3/8" and 5/16"  pushrods ball tips or do they need a specific size?

I have lunati lifters/cam and i have found a set of comp camps whose lengt is very close to what i need.
The cup is 5/16" but the ball is 3/8".Not sure if the ball is going to be loose into the lifter.

Not too sure about Lunati, but other's lifters have a bigger cup and are designed to work with 5/16" or 3/8" push rods.

I've used pushrods with a 5/16" ball and pushrods with a 3/8" ball without problems. Both sets of lifters had a 5/16" cup to match the rocker studs.
