Why would a seller not accept a $23,000 offer (but-it-now is $12k)??

i live at the beach, and what they do here is advertise a beach rental home for a week at a good price, say they are a doctor out of the country and to send the deposit they come here to Rehoboth beach and find several other people standing at the house looking stupid and confused thinking this is the house when it was never for rent etc.

If he is canceling all the bids and won't accept the buy it now, i don't understand how he can scam anyone.  Scams usually work by making people believe they are going to get a bargain if they pony up the money first.  Must be they are trying to get people to contact them and send money outside of ebay.

Someone bid $12,500 this afternoon. The next bid was/is $90,000. Will the seller accept that one?

Second day in a row the seller cancelled all bids.

The seller rejected the bids for $90,000 and $90,100. Huh ?

He reset the bidding to ZERO with no reserve. He really wants $12,000 and not a penny more.

What an ass clown.

Third day in a row - seller cancelled all bids, including the $120,301 high bid.

This morning, the auction ended by seller - "item no longer available".
