Remember this radiator ?

And all these rusty parts ?

It's over !

I found a part that I don't know where it goes....  :shruggy:

And I started to make my choice in the chrome trim, but I think i'll have a problem to mount one side... :(

Quentin

jaak

looks great  :2thumbs:

The part you don't know where goes, is the rear bracket for the console.  Its under the large chrome piece on the back of the console, It gets covered
with a piece of carpet.

Nick work, putting her back together is the best part of the restoration.

Thanks guys

Rainy public holiday --> I have to think about re-do my wiper linkage :scratchchin:

I spare you the details of the stripping and painting.

But I followed the great thread of Shakey (http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,17700.msg196353.html) to improve lubrification.

I didn't use a classic grease.

It's a lubricant, water dispersant metal grey color which fits perfectly with the paint I use.
And if you remove the V of the brand, it makes another kind of lubricant... :smilielol:

Once remounted :

Remounted, not really, I have to replace this broken ring tomorrow before installing on car.

Thanks guys for interest  :icon_smile_big:

Nice weather this week end = sand blasting and paint.

For electricity, Dad returns to its core business to give me a hand.

On my side, I dismantled the instruments panel.

Backgrounds are oxidized. I looked how to restore it, but I'll do it later.
In july, I must go with my car to Le Mans so I have to be quick. And a sticker on it would be just a fig leaf.

I've got to modify this potentiometer with a newer one.

A pin is also broken, I tried to weld it with tin, but it didn't stick. So I'll put a littre screw from behind to fix it.

Dashboard paint done, leather washed, and wood imitation ganitures repainted.
For these one, I made just a presentable stuff.
I'm not satisfied with the result because the masking tape didn't stick well and some grey glitter came off the semi gloss black... :icon_smile_angry:

But I planned to re do all of this after summer.
I want to reprint all my instruments gauges, or change it completly (I'll see the price with shipping fees)
And re do the wood imitation by covering and chrome plating around the dials..
I'll find out how to proceed.

I opted for the solution found by my father

I rubbed a little with polish on the plastic.

Remember this ?

Well I have not done miracles and it's temporary, but he took a breath of fresh anyway!

Long weekend so I can work !

Last night I looked at how to change the original front speaker
I found two small speakers Alpine at a local shop , the distance between the axes was not bad.

But the tweeters that emerge looks like modern custom, so I had to hide it.
So I brutally cut the speaker cloth that was lying in the attic.

I made a plastic plate :

I used a thin foam to prevent vibrations against the sheet of the dashboard :

And what's cool is that the dimensions are similar .

I took the opportunity to redo the vent box before installation .

Tada !

I put together also a lot of odds and ends today , I'll pictures tomorrow if I think about it.
But by mounting the wiper motor ( in fact I had two with the car ), one with two additional cables, orange and purple.
But it goes on two pods, and even electrical diagrams I don't even know where it's going !

Otherwise I began to receive packs from US.
Mwahahahaha !

The rest tomorrow ...
