Made some new bird fenderscoops for Stuart...out of aluminum this time - 063 thickness.

Yes can do - on the scoops.

As per stress cracks - yup no worry there . 063 is 14 gauge.
I am building a aluminum Daytona nose cone for a customer in WA state now, will post pics when done.

Aluminum round bar - tapped and tig'd to scoop...almost like orig.

Why aluminum rather than steel?  When you get to painting them I would think the steel would be more forgiving long term.  :shruggy:
