Anyone know how to remove the upper part of the steering column? Circled in red. Column still in car. Pic just for reference. Thanks

Dino

I'll check the shop manual tonight unless someone else chimes in with the answer.

Nice car in your profile, I had one just like it but without the stripe.  R4 white hat special with white interior and white top.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

tan top

remove steering wheel , if you have not already

first picture below
remove turn signal lever  which is bolt ( two )
*** lever has already been removed & bolt put back in for some reason in picture ***
remove three screws marked ( one )  & metal retainer
lift out

remove cover in the second picture
remove wiring terminals from multiplug in second picture ,  carfully  pull the trun signal switch wiring through & remove switch

remove two nuts  marked  ( three )  one of the nuts was hiding under the turn signal switch
then lift off , carefull you dont lose the two studs those nuts were on when the top comes off , & note  their location  ,  can be tricky when refitting ,

like i mentioned in the other thread , been years since i done mine & i'm always forgetting stuff  :icon_smile_blackeye: ,  so anyone see anything i missed , or i've got something mixed up in what ive been saying  , fell free to add or correct  my post ,
 :2thumbs:
