I was on the old site. I remember it went down a time or two before that, so I thought it would be up in a day or two. It never came back. I went to the Cuda-Challenger site and roamed there for a while until news came that Troy had lifted the site from the ashes and it has been a top notch site ever since. I think I am #109

I think I found the old DC.com site back around the same time I found Moparts in the early part of 2003, but I don't know for sure. It was pretty funny seeing other members pop up all over other sites trying to find out what happened when the old site died. People were on the Cuda-Challenger site, the 1970 Charger site, & Moparts all asking. Some were even in panic mode like they came home & found that someone changed the locks on the door.   :smilielol:

It happened just prior to the Carlisle Mopar show & it pretty much dominated the topic when people met up & talked. I know I found this site on day one & my number here is 49.

Thanks Troy

Also, it took a while for people to find their way here because the site didn't even have a name or proper URL for a few months (I don't remember what it was..."classiccharger.com" or something like that). Didn't Troy have to buy the dodgecharger.com domain name from some guy that had a picture of a goat or something on it?

I vaguely remember he had to get in touch with "No T-Shirts Jesse" for something about the name, but I don't recall any goats in the story.

T shirt jesse was from the south and Troy had to trade him three goats and a plow for the name.     It's true.   I have pictures.

When the old site went down I was sad as hell.  Took me 2 1/2 months til I found the new one.

i was on the old site too  , same screen name  :yesnod:  , plus was lurking for a while too , as only just went computer age & did not know what i was doing really , still the same now   :P ,

remember chargerbill  had loads of posts on the old site ,
also remember the site disappearing a couple of times i think  , then for good july 2005 , not long after i smashed my ankle to bits ,  thinking when i get out of the  damn hospital , can  have a good read up on the dodgecharger site  , & take my mind off of being on crutches & having pins screws rods in my left  leg , ankle & foot  :icon_smile_blackeye: ,  three weeks later , out of hospital  noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo no charger site  :'( :cryin: where it go , was on soo many pain killer , every thing was a bit hazy  :o  , was not really up for doing any serious searching on the net , as mentioned computer stuff was new to me ,
then just by chance i stumbled on a link to this site over on moparts as there was a discussion about what happened  ,  that was november 05 ,  i joined back up , then realised the site had been infact going again  since july 05   :shruggy:

I was offline for a few months back when the old site closed and this one started up so it took me a little longer to show.

I actually liked the old T-shirt logo.  Troy can we count on you for doing a "retro T-shirt" release?

First generation shirts should be retired by now due to excessive yellow pit stains..... unless you're Cooter. :nana:  It might be his Sunday best. :eek2:

Ponch is right. . . back then dodgecharger.com did just have a picture of a old car on it.  A GTO sounds right, and it was not even nice if I remember correctly. .

I was another person who did not know the site had started back up.  About a month after Troy got it going I received an e-mail saying dodgecharger.com was up and going again.

Ah yes I remember those days when we were without d-c.com.  There were a bunch of us in the chat room each day/night and I remember having withdrawl symptoms when everything went down.  I don't think we have a lot of members left from back then.

I ordered a few shirts as well, still waiting for those.  Thanks Jesse  :flame:
