Thankyou man, never thought i'd have and engine and transmission after year 1 but its pretty awesome , only 7 days til the one year mark from when i started to work on what everyone, including myself considered a complete write-off   to be honest i never thought it would make it this far, it was really just a huge experiment to test my abilities and a sad attempt to try and build my dream car

Also, i was originally going to try and put together the hood latch that came with grille, but i ended up donating that to Make-A-Wish SO i ended up drilling holes for hood pins... shortly after filling in the old hood pin holes   , and for good measure i added trunk pins because.... well because i dont have a trunk latch or lock cylinder... and also just because.

interesting to note, the scuff plates on the trunk are actually off the 69 hood, the pins are off a junk civic from Miami, and the torsion pins are from Lowes home improvement .... and i may or may not have shoplifted them.... What im trying to say is: the trunk pins were free :2thumbs:

Hey man, if you need that C trim piece for the grille, I can probably help you out later this spring.  Need to figure out what I'm doing with my grilles and will let you know.

Thanks guys, i hope to see more people building up parts cars into kickass rides, i love stock restos, but it'd be nice to see more mad max style cars roaming the streets  :drive:

HOLY CRAP!!  It's been a while since I saw this thread and holy crap!!! Monster scores. Great work. New camera and the last 20 pages had me laughing my ass off!!!!

You really are quite the artist. Keep up this kind of work and we'll all be saying we once knew you when you were just starting off!!  ;)

When I saw the heavy truck tires I figured you would say something about jumping the car again!! lol...

I have a 65' Coronet 500 and have never liked the dash. Always wanted to do something much more sporty.. Watching your progress I think I will dig out the extra dash I have and play with a few things..

Very inspiring.. Keep it going..  :2thumbs:

Its lookin like a charger again!!!  :popcrn: :popcrn:
M-Massively O-Over P-Powered A-And R-Respected

A Custom dash would really look good in the 65  :scratchchin:

And yes it is looking alot like a charger again..... atleast from the outside

so, remember the lincoln ford 9" axle, its about 4" too wide and with the centrelines i bought the tires stick out about 1.5" past the quarter panel...im not sure if thats legal, but it kinda looks stupid anyway

SO to avoid further complications with getting this thing street legal, i cut off the housing ends and shortened the axle 2" on both sides, i ordered some Moser housing ends, which i was told are self aligning and don't really require any special leveling tools (we'll see) and thankfully the axleshafts i bought are designed to be cut to length and will still work.

since im replacing the housing ends im changing to Ford Tornio style ends instead of the heavy duty truck ends i had, easier to find parts for, and will still accept my universal disc brake kit and axle retainers. so.... yeah

Also ordered front coil over shocks, all 20 wheel studs and mag wheel nuts, tie rod ends, rear shock mounts and various other small parts to finish up the little things (probably)

Steve P.

You absolutely need to pull that 3rd member back our and clean all the cutting/welding crap out of there..

Also, I don't know that I would trust the ends being right not being done with the proper bar and centering bushings.  You are doing very well with everything, but you are bound to hit some expensive snags now and then. I'm just trying to keep you from one or two of them now..

If it were me, I would sell what you have in the FORD category and use the 8 3/4 that has been offered to you. There is nothing wrong with a Ford 9 inch. Matter of fact you can get many more optional gears from what I understand, but that 8 3/4 is ready to bolt in place.  :2thumbs: Plus what ever you sell the ford stuff for gives you more money for other needed stuff.

TRUE, and yes im aware of possible screw ups, but i rather try this first, then buy the 8-3/4, rather than just buying it now.

and yes i need to remove the center section, but its crucial to taking measurements, which is why its there for now  :yesnod:

As I said, once the Dana goes in my car, you can have my 8-3/4 if you'd like...  I wont have any use for it, and really don't feel like talking to the people of Kijiji...

Well updates and S**T

Hurt my back pretty badly, couldnt move for 3 days which sucked, but was also awesome, because i got time off from work

WHICH MEANS after i could move i got to work on the charger  :buff:

Got the 9" together and its actually in the car, but i never took pictures of that, Flat out forgot,  :rotz:, But i may be replacing it with an 83/4 anyway, so it dont matter

Anyways with the rear suspension together i moved to the front suspension, i had to make some lower shock mounts to fit the coil overs, which i cut up some 4x4 Shock towers to make, and may use the remains for interior door handles  :scratchchin:

Baldwinvette77

Also welded up the k-member and upper shock mounts, and finished most of the fabrication parts

Wasn't kidding about the door handle part  :scratchchin:

Baldwinvette77

Also tacked together the entire cage, it actually looks kinda kickass on the inside  :coolgleamA:

Getting my shit together.. God this looks good... In a dirty way  :drool5:
