Sound's to me like she may move on her own before the winter is through  :yesnod:

Come spring I'll have to play catch up eh?

I would like it too, but it wont... but then again im 8x ahead of schedule, i never expected to have an engine, transmission or differential (being shipped) untill 3 years into the project  :scratchchin:

And Thanks Charlie it's not always easy keeping my head up, but no matter how i look at it, the car is getting closer to completion  :drool5:

5.29!?!?! Is that for backflips?

well yeah.. why did you think i put a roll cage in it  :shruggy:

but seriously i choose it for a few reasons... its a heavy car and i want it to accelerate like a lightning bolt, i have a 50% overdrive so even on the highway this will act like a 2.67 or something like that plus im going to run fairly large diameter tires so if i was to compare this to another charger with stock tires it would be more like a 4.56 ratio  :shruggy:

Interesting......you might actually be able to use a 50% overdrive :scratchchin:

For your engine, I'll have to agree. Big blocks make a lot of low end torque with a stock type dual plane intake.  With that gear, you'll rip right through your torque curve. That gear is more suited for a high revving small block with a single plane intake, high flowing heads, h beam rods, forged pistons, and high compression and used for short track oval racing.  Personally, I think you'd end up over revving your engine and scattering it all over the road.

If you run 39"-44" tires you'll be ok.   :nana:

Good point. The OD part will work for cruising......but there's more to it then OD. [me>:brickwall:]

Thankye Sir DJ i've been doing this and that, kinda cold... i've assembled a couple more things on the motor, installed my 9" center section, set the pinion angle, welded the perches... And im working on interior pieces in my basement.. MUCH warmer!, i've ordered new axles, bearings and seals, and a disc brake set for the rear... ALL on backorder  :rotz:... i was hoping to get a decent amount done before my next post, but for now heres some progress pics.

making some interior switch panels for the dashboard... also i found out welding in sub-zero makes it difficult to keep a steady hand, so i had to try multiple times to get a good bead on the perches

the keyed switchs only has a acc. and run position, so the red switch is for the starter, chrome knobs are for the radio, stock wiper and headlight switched, and 2 toggle switches for washer and hazards, still need to add a cig. lighter to charge my phone... Only the Essentials  :coolgleamA:

Baldwinvette77

k so like, i got a 69 charger grille, in really amazing shape, came with another header panel, and is complete down to wiringharness, vacuum hoses and even has headlight bulbs and bezels, is missing chrome trim for the driver side, the drivers side is smashed, so the seller gave me a 68 corner piece to replace it... got everything for 510$ so how'd i do  :shruggy: what would you guys have paid for something like this????

........... ALSO I HAVE A CHARGER GRILLE WOOOOOOOOOOT!  :woohoo:

Too much gear...

please elaborate  :scratchchin:
What you don't realize is with an overdrive and spinning the pinion bearings at such a speed as that, you will kill the pinion bearings in no time flat with that much gear. Sure, your engine R's are lower, but at the cost of the pinion bearings.
Better run a diff. Cooler too and synthetic fluid.
Ever wonder why most Ford SUV's use $20.00/qt. Synthetic diff. Fluid with 4.10 gears and OD?
Now you know. Just trying to keep you from a costly mistake,  when some roundy round guy can use that gear set up.
Also, you might not believe this, but that gear set up is weaker than a 4.10...
Why? Ever looked at how many teeth are on the pinion gear? What? Like 4?? Lol.
The steeper the gear, the less teeth on pinion rendering it weaker for shock load. ( stickshift)...
