Neat! Have a picture of it finished? i was thinking of making this RHD just to confuse people... but you can't own a rhd car in canada until you're 25 years old  :rotz:

You're giving people too much credit.  Just but a bumper sticker on there with a picture of an apple with a text balloon that says 'I'm an orange'.  People's heads will spontaniously explode upon trying to figure that one out.

Bring a camera...

Yeah i guess, i remember once the olds broke down at a stoplight, i left the hood up but traffic still piled behind it  i watched from a gas station just shaking my head  :rotz:

T'was another good day so... i was originally going to buy a rear valance panel, but then i remembered i had to get caps as well, plus shipping.. yeah i didn't have the money, so  made one from scrap pieces i had (like everything else) I also made my own 1/4 panel patches for the rear, obviously it's not stock, it's more just a simple custom, It's a work in progress, still to modify the bumper brackets and cut the quarters for the bumper ends and fill in the marker light holes.... oh and fix the wheel arches and front of the quarters  ::) .

Also modified and straightened out the rear bumper, which im kinda proud of  :P most notably i recessed the bumperettes

more stuff

Baldwinvette77

and more, also a note, the bumperettes are actually much closer to the valance than they are in the picture, just, the two kids i bribed to hold the bumper up didn't position it right

I like reading the updates in this thread. Too many guys shy away from these cars because they figure that it would take a buttload of cash to do it right. Your way takes guts. Most people are too intimidated to cut out rust and hand-fab patch panels. I respect your efforts.  It won't be OEM correct, but so what? It is your car to build as you want. I used to get annoyed seeing nice cars get hacked for that tubbed out, Pro-Street look that was popular in the 80s. Seeing your car, a forgotten and abused car with a questionable history, get patched back together....It inspires ME!

I appreciate that, the only things im certain of is that it was once green on green, a 68, and it could have been an R/T Simply because theres an outline of an R/T badge on the tail panel, but thats on the red respray, so this car could just be an R/T clone, who knows really  :yesnod:

Cooter, I never even thought about you when posting but you obviously feel I singled you out.I have no idea WTF you are talking bout here, but whatever.

There's only one problem with that.  I have to care.  And when it's about you I don't. By replying like you did, obviously, you do. Contradict much?
Now I'm sure you'll say something like, "oh well why'd you post".  If you haven't noticed I will not post anything directed towards you & most of the time stay out of anything you've contaminated. Again,  You think I responded to YOU? LMFAO. Get over yourself dude, you ain't THAT glorious. And for the record, I post what I feel. You obviously do not like that. Leave it alone Quite Honestly, I'm up for it. :shruggy:

Contrary to what you think, this website isn't all about you. Never said it was or thought that. Are you off/ON your meds? Dude, you gotta quit posting while high.

Much like you,  Quite honestly, I'm not up to it.  You win, how's that.   :shruggy:
Cool with me guy...

Baldwinvette77, you should have seen the flack I copped when I said I was converting MY Charger to RHD.....

See, this was what I was getting at. Although not for me, I certainly wouldn't call the RHD conversion a "hack job" or not even try to understand the reasoning behind the conversion.
I didn't know Vette guy was only 19 Y/O either. Quite the abitious one ain't we? Looks great though.

Thanks guys  it's nice to know im not the only one who likes my car  and yeah i guess it is an ambitious project but will be about as simple as a sledge hammer (if not simpler), and yeah im pretty amazed with the emissions laws here, for example if you managed to stuff a 2013 viper engine into a 2013 challenger it would be emissions exempt.... i still hate all the other laws though

Just my :Twocents:

Sometimes good people, get a bit focused on their own personal way, and unintentionally I hope, lose tolerance for another way.

Keep it up. :2thumbs:

Really curious how this will turn out. :scratchchin:

Still watching, and will continue to do so. :yesnod:

Is this thing gonna be a "tucked and rolled" custom? Or what? Meaning is it gonna have the bumpers tucked up closer and such? I still think it's cool you ain't skeered to do your own work on that thing. I have a few left over pieces if you like fixing rust. (IE Fenders, valances,Doors,Etc.)..

I'd hook you up Cheap. If you might be coming to Carlisle, I can bring what you want with me. Willing to help out anybody willing to go to that extreme.

I'd defiantly be interested   and to answer your questions, i want to keep the body as close to stock as possible, since i love the 2nd gen charger design, the reason i tucked the bumper ettes in like that is simply because i was bored and it was something i've always wanted to try  i think it turned out really nice and it only took about 10 minutes.

But i want it to be a more Fast N loud style musclecar thats really budget oriented for example im just going to have the hood pinned down by four hood pins (so i dont have to find hood hinges)
i want to put a roll cage in it (mostly because i've always wanted to make one)
and it wont have much of an interior in it,
like i said at the very beginning it will be a cross between the blade 68 and fast five 70, i loved the simple styling of both cars  plus the fast five cars were really low budget cars themselves.

And ofcourse i'd like to put in newer suspension pieces, i'd like to use some vette spindles and 4 piston calipers i have, aswell as use a manual universal rack and maybe use a four link in the rear, but i do like the look of leafsprings....  :scratchchin:

the trunk will have no other purpose than to keep the fuel tank and battery dry, so.. basically a streetlegal racecar with a license plate.

but.. this plan could change, wouldn't be the first time  ::)

yeah i know that, i know a guy from africa, that used to lift cars with 2/4's and remove engines with just 2 big dudes picking them up, now he's a licensed master mechanic, and thinks im in over my head with my car  ::)

Baldwinvette77

Well i (mostly) finished the quarters now as well as a small piece of the Rocker, filled in the marker light holes, finished and ground down most of the welds i think it's looking sexy  :drool5: obviously still need some trimming on the drivers side and probably some other stuff, but i think it's starting to kick ass again  :coolgleamA: next for the quarter panel is the tie it into the wheel well with a thin strip of steel and some seam sealer, but that will come eventually.
