Aluminum intake with a heat activated choke?

Is it possible to use a stock heat crossover activated choke with an aftermarket intake?  Do any of the aftermarket intakes have provisions for one?

For your 383? If so, Edelbrock Performer #2186 works....there may be others.

some ppl says yes, some others says no. The truth is the Performer is higher than the stock what should make longer runners, and being aluminium: lighter and cooler.

If those facts mean an HP gain, I think is a gain.

I'm running the Performer now, but in a diff engine assembly ( 400 stroked ) so I can't tell the diff between the stock my 400 had and the Performer running now ( and won't change it back just to tell the diff )

Then some ppl put side by side the DP4B ( which is a good reputable intake ) with the Performer RPM. Putting side by side all the 3, I'd say the DP4B looks MORE LIKE the Performer than the RPM on EVERYTHING

now, the experts will tell ( however some experts I have read put side by side the Performer with the DP4B too )

another aluminium with crossover passages available is the Mopar M1 Dual Plane, but square bore.

I'd say the M1 dual plane is an aluminium option for earlier engines, and the Performer makes the aluminium option for laters when spreadbores become on stock carb. These facts matches also the choke coil setup according with the carb
