Well  Every once and a while a band can just knock your Frikken Socks OFF !!

I won 4 tickets to a private showing at the HARD ROCK CAFE featuring RIVAL SONS out of California.....
Went last night (Tuesday) I had heard these guys on the radio last year when they released "Pressure and Time" and this little 50 person get together was for the latest release featuring "Keep on Swinging"
The Show was a Plugged in Acoustical show, and just 4 songs long with a Question answer/ Meet and Greet period after the show.
As for the Performance ...Simply Amazing !! Man is this a Good band, definatly a classic rock feel, a bit Zepplin"ish" with great writing and outstanding vocals. The Singer is comparible to Freddy Mercury ,Robert Plant, Ronnie James Dio.
Very Strong powerful vocals but smooth as silk in the Ballads they preformed.

Big Thumbs up,!! may get out again on Friday to see them again in full Electric mode.

RIVAL SONS next year at the Grammy's Garanteed.

Ron

Well I took my daughter to Lee's Palace in Toronto to catch The Rival son's in a electric show, had to pay double face value for a couple scalper tickets but I was soon to find out it was money well spent, the opening act was a band my daughter and I have seen before (the Balconies ) and they were fun to watch well rehersed and very energetic, great opener.
The Rival Sons have a Canadian Bass player and with their recent explosion in popularity they wanted to thank us Torontonians for supprting them and promised us a top shelf show !! "(Heard this one before )" but after the third song it was apparant they were holding true to their promise and finished up the night delivering a full on powerhouse of a show that left the place fully spent and smiling from ear to ear.
Looking back I'm glad I decided to risk the scalpers and share this with my daughter.
The music is deeply rooted 70's style rock with no letting up on strong power riff's and wonderfull guitar and vocal arangements, the few ballads were great and shut the crowd right down . Jay' vocals a so strong and his writing is so well done it's easy to feel the emotion in everything he sings.
Keep an eye out for this train folks, its a coal driven express.

And im blessed i got to see them in a small little shithole club like Lee's Palace in Toronto.

Great daddy daughter night !!!
