Non Stock Hemi .. How Much does it Devalue

Got an all number matching 69 R/T, Hemi, 4 spd, Dana.   Use to run this at the track years ago, had a lot done, both machine work and bolt ons.  When I restored it, basically removed the bolts ons, cam, carbs, header, manifold etc for the stock appearance, so now it is probably not far from stock HP.  Unfortunately I find it boring compared to what it was, so would like to put a cam back in.  I used to run a . 750 roller, sounded awesome.  Have been thinking of going to another roller, at least 650, maybe back to the old one.  How will that affect value if I decided to sell it.  Bad idea?  Would you deduct if you were buying?    I don't plan to race it anymore, just liked the sound. :shruggy:

It wouldn't deduct anything if I were the buyer.  Are you considering selling it?

johnnyseville

NO clue, had it so long, its part of me, but always think about it.

In a perfect world where there is no money troubles the ideal situation here would be to pull the original out and mothball it and put a crate in it to play.

I agree, but that's a lot of dough to tie up. If you decide to sell it with all the goodies in it, the price of a rebuild would be a negotiation point.

That's what I think.  Currently trying to convince I guy know to sell his put together, non matching anything stroker Hemi Barracuda.  If I can get that, then I have a toy to really have some fun with. Restoring a car makes it somewhat impratical, everytime you drive it, the price goes down due to wear and tear.  IMO it's not really worth it.

If there is no real immediate plan to sell it, I wouldn't worry for a second about the impact on value.  But then again, I'm the guy who doesn't think it would change it much.

moparstuart

If you keep the stock one and put the lumpy one back in .  You can always just change it back before or when you sell it if its a sticking point

GO SELL CRAZY SOMEWHERE ELSE WE ARE ALL STOCKED UP HERE
