One thing that I think is very sad is 5 years from now there probably won't be any Pearl Harbor vets left.

I agree

My Dad taught me about TIME TRAVEL.

My late in-laws lived on the hills in back of Pearl Harbor and took pictures during the attack.  They had one great shot of a Zero banking close to their house.  You could actually see the pilots face.  Unfortunately, the pictures could not be found after their passing.  The in house "care givers" were helping themselves to things during the last days....

This got me thinking how much I miss those people.  We were close to them and many of their friends for years in Hawaii.  They were all great people.  Fighting for their country was just understood and not questioned.  High morals and integrity, truly the "greatest generation".

Been there myself, several times.  And the last time we went (we were married on 12/6/04) the next day we went to the ceremony at 7:00am.
Breathtaking! The ships passing into the harbor, fly overs, just amazing.

A day we should never forget.

I remember going to this memorial when I was 10, and seeing 50-60 year old men having tears stream down their faces while reading the names on the wall. I'll never forget that.

I'll never forget the sight of the bullet holes in the HQ building ( the enlisted barricks ) on Hickam AFB next to Pearl Harbor where the Japanese Zeros shot up the building.. To this day, the holes are still there....

Yeah, and seeing the oil weeping from the fallen body of the once great Arizona was also very moving.

She still bleeds for the men that could not.

So that we will not forget that freedom, is most certainly not free.

This was taken just this last April.
