For a bunch of reasons i went to clean out and reseal  my 750 aftermarket Carter  carb. and when I turned the body over a small  piece came out of the bottom of the body   It is 1/8 square and the square part is 3/8 long and the other end is about 1/4 long and  1/16 round, and I believe the round end had a spring on it.  I need to know where it goes and  be sure if the spring goes on the round part.   thanks.

yeh, a picture would greatly help.  I have rebuilt lots of Carter carbs for our chally and my charger.  It almost sounds like a type of check valve for the accelerator pump where it goes up to the squirters.
