I learned something new yesterday (what's new). I was at the Mopars Unlimited (Tacoma, WA) Sunbust show. Parked next to me was a very high dollar restoration of a F8 69 R/T. I made a comment to the guy that he should get rid of the C body air cleaner on the car and get a correct unsilenced iar clear like it came with.......well this is when I got a lesson about Calif Emissions cars and that the clunky dual snorkel air cleaner was correct for the car.

Also he talked about the carb being a CVS not an AVS...anyone know about this?

Nice guy and an amazing car.

I think it was on this site somewhere I read that the changes weren't all for emissions.
Some, like the dual snorkel and exhaust turn-downs, were actually to meet California's drive-by noise standards.
