Here's the story. Many years ago I helped an old buddy back home, build a 71' Camaro. It was a pretty nice car and he'd had much sheet metal changed and really a full restoration on a NY rust bucket.. It wasn't quite as bad as JB's GL, but it was a huge restoration.  We cruised and raced the car for a few years and then I got married. He found the girl of his dreams and both of our cars were put on the back burners..
Well, he still has this Camaro and after more than 25 years, wants to bring it out of hiding.. Now we know how much tech has changed for our beloved MOPARS and such things as DRAG RADIALS, but i do not follow CHEVY stuff at all anymore and he is asking my help.. I suggested he find a group like us and thought I would ask all of you for your help.. NOT YOUR SMART ASS CHEVY REMARKS!!!   :D lol....

The car has been garaged for all of these years with the headers off and ports NOT PLUGGED.. I have made my suggestions, but we'll see..  He wants to change the cam to a hydraulic to not have to adjust rockers anymore.. ( I did them for him back then). It will also need new wheels as the Cragar's are rusty and peeling and some new interior stuff. The big thing here is I don't know where to go for anything Chevy. Ceramic headers are in order and new mufflers, but so far I have not been able to talk him into full exhaust. He's looking at Headman Header muffs.. Not my choice.....

Anywho, if any of you have a site in mind FOR HIS CHEVY, please let me know...

Honestly, ask on here....there are quite a few guys with Chevys. Ill ask some buds if they know anything that could help.

Steve P.

FLG, I know a few here to ask also. I guess I should have explained a few things.

1) I really want him to stay excited about doing the car back up.

2) I don't want to be the one to tell him what the cost will be these days!! hahahaha..

3) More than anything, I want him to be involved in the rebuild and make the choices without me explaining everything over and over and then trying to explain the cost and why it is worth doing it...

This site is much more than great guys and girls with great info. We are also a support system that helps build confidence and provides great guidance.. If this site stopped taking in new topics and stopped allowing answering posts, you could spend the rest of your life reading all the past incredible information recorded here. This site is a fantastic tool on every level.  That is what I want him to find....

Team Camaro or Team Chevelle would be the two top places to go to.  Im not familiar with the camaro site but I know the chevelle site is chevelles.com.  I think the link for the camaro site was www.camaros.net or something like that.  they are sister sites like dc.com and cuda-challenger.com
