installing new repro tictoctac

I just got my cluster back from Instrument Specialties and am wiring things back up with the new harness. I can't find my instructions on the repro tictoctac (moving stuff around while selling house) so I have posted this pic looking for some help on where things go. The 68 did not have a TTT before, only a clock, and I am using MSD 6AL ignition. Dash is upside down in the pic. Thanks in advance!

The tach wire connects to the "tac" marked location, and the 12 volt lead goes to the "12V" marked location. The ground is taken care of when you bolt up the dash.  ;)

Edit...the tachometer wire goes to the negative terminal on the coil. See http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,68131.msg764938.html#msg764938

if you don't mind me asking about your gauge cluster i'd like know some things. did they fully restore your cluster clean everything repaint put new faces on redialed the gauges to make sure they read right? did you install the tictoctac or did they and is it a direct fit of a regular clock? and how much did they charge to do everything? i'm sending my charger to the body shop again and have time to restore things while it's there and gauge cluster is one of them. also if you could post more pics of the finished result that would be great

The gauges were all repainted and look very new. Very jet black background with high contrast white. I can't speak for thier accuracy as the dash has not been connected but can let you know later. They installed the tic toc tac replacing the old broken clock. I have read a lot of posts and was a little spooked about the hookup not wanting to fry it with the MSD. The fit looks good. They repair and polish but do not put new chrome foil on the switches. I had two good switches that cleaned up very well but the wiper switch had a section of the chrome torn off which I replaced myself when the cluster was returned. The process took longer than I had thought, about 4 months. The total cost was about $1K. Look for a new post this week with the complete dash before I start putting it back in the car.

Or the tac terminal output on the MSD unit.

The back of the OER tic toc tac I just purchased has 5 terminals
3
marked G 1 marked 8 and the last marked +

no wiring diagram came with the gauge.

Can anyone please help me decipher this??

FYI, with the Charger Specialties tach you won't need the MSD tach adapter. Also, be prepared for the clock to kick the bucket in the near future. Mine lasted about a month. From what I'm told the clock has cheap plastic gears inside which strip out easily.

Im trying to install this thing and the company i bought it from has no answers and the manufacture
only has a email contact to which they have not gotten back to me. Bach of tic toc tack has 5 terminals.
Three marked G one marked + and the last marked with a 8. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi,

I have just purchased the same and it has no instructions either.

Did you get the answers to fit your OER TTT?

Thanks

Just guessing that "G" is ground, "+" is 12v accessory power and the "8" goes to coil  :shruggy:

That would be a great guess.  :Twocents:   ;)

Of great that sounds good. Thanks.

My car did not come with a TTT so now I have to get all the wiring. There seems to be a harness that many suppliers are advertising for around 35 dollars, but Classic Industries are advertising a factory correct harnesses as well, stating dash side and engine bay side. I emailed them asking for what the difference is between the products as I have an MSD electronic distributor and ignition but no reply after two weeks.

If anyone knows it would be fantastic.

They also advertise an engine bay wiring harness for electronic ignition cars which I am thinking about ordering also, but as the car came out with points originally I am not really sure what to do.

If anyone can help it would be most appreciated.

Thanks
