Any saving a dry rotted trim panel???

Except for the fact that you scratch the panel with your fingernail my rear trim panels look pretty good.  Is there anything that can be sprayed on them to preserve them, would SEM paint be protection enough?  Is there anything that I can fill the gouges in the panels with, would bondo work????

Darn it, I put this in the wrong section and can't figure out how to move it :(

nope - either don't touch it or buy new

Once the uv rays get the plastic parts well started on the road to ruin they are pretty much stuck there.

Thanks for the responses, I appreciate them...  where do you think the best place to pick up some would be?  I've been fortunate enough to have a 72 at the local salvage yard as but I have a feeling the panels aren't any better on that one either.  That settles it, my car's getting tint asap... and maybe trim panels will go on my Christmas list.

Your wisdom and expertise are greatly appreciated!!!
