hey all, couple of questions in regards to fender tags. 1) I see only one and its on the left fender, should there be another, if not will the fender tag give me all the info in regards to the options for the car?  2) the tag has been painted over in dark blue, any recommendations on how to safely remove the paint to get to the number, i do want to make sure i keep the tag together. tanks a bunch :brickwall: :slap:

most cars had only one tag unless the car has a lot of options , it will give you a lot of info but to get all of the info you need the build sheet , remove the tag & strip the paint with aircraft stripper

If the tag was painted with spray paint, you can soak it in lacquer thinner. This will loosen the new paint but leave the original paint intact - IF you do not soak it too long.

Maybe and here's why...

By your screen name, I'm going to assume we are talking about a 73 Charger.

If the car was built at the Lynch Road (A) plant, it will have only one fender tag listing options and not all options will be coded on the tag. There could be a second tag and if there is, it would be an inspection tag.

If the car was built at the St. Louis plant (G), the possibility exists that there could be a second tag depending on the number of options coded. The final code on the top of the tag will be either END or CTD. If it is END, then all the options that were coded on the tag are listed. If it says CTD then there would be a second tag with additional codes. If the car was built at STL, most of the options will be coded. Some will not be on the tag.
Seeking information on '69 St. Louis plant VINs, SPDs and VONs. Buld sheets and tag pictures appreciated. Over 3,000 on file thanks to people like you.
