A few photos from last Weeks Save Mart 350 at Infineon

I was able to go and spend a day at the track. Fun day, with lots of racing and good people watching. I with with my buddy Marco (36 Dodge Brothers) who took close to a 1,000 pics with a very long lens. I hope he posts a few up here. Overall a great day, but next time I would plan on staying a few hours afterwords and do a BBQ (lots of cars all trying to get out on a few single lane roads).

Photo 3 - Gordon and Johnson. I didn't know that the drivers do the 'ole Gladiator thing and parade before the race. What comes to mind is "we who are about to die salute you!" A little bit weird.

So that is why a few fans were carrying single used racing tires around. I just thought they were crazy hoarders....

I always think of the Johnny Cash song ...  "One Piece of a time"

They could also be building their own race car?


For those that are interested...  You go over to the Good Year tire area where they mount all of the tires and ask one of the guys if you can get a tire. They will tell you $20 unless its gone up and he will grab one and pass it over the fence to you. If you lucky you can ask for a specific driver, some will get you your favorite driver and others just grab what is closest and then you can try to trade someone else.

Thanks for bringing me along I really enjoyed the event! I did take alot of pics but now I have the task of cropping, color correction and any photo shop touchups I might want to do so it will take me a while to go through them.
