You know, reading all of the crtitism on here, plus the bs, I'm surprised NO ONE hasn't figured out that someone might have tried to put in their own a/c. It makes since. Use a Chrysler compressor because it mounts up easy, and cobble the rest.

Outside that the car is a bondo bucket, it's mostly there.  How many 4 speed Chargers do you run across for sale?  If you have the funds, and the patience, buy it and have some fun.

I was under the impression that the original poster wanted opinions on the car, of which criticism is a major part of that. An important part of a car's value is no only it's physical condition but it's documentation. If it's a rebody that is (at least to me) an important issue when looking to buy a car to possibly put back on the road. A legit 4spd also makes a big difference in it's value. All relevant discussions as far as I am concerned considering he didn't give any indication of it just being a parts car.   

My statement was more in regards to the a/c situation, not the car, or the documentation, or the 4 spd.

I think some guys are getting confused on A/C and non A/C firewalls. here is a couple of pics.

It really don't bother me about criticism on the car, yes it is sculpted with bondo but it is not a rot box, it is NOT a A/C car, it appears the codes to me are M21 drip through moldings, M31 quarter and door moldings and most interesting it looks like M91 ? chrome luggage rack. Remember these codes are alpha in sequence and you can clearly see the g15 and a 21 after that and there is no h21. Before i lay any money down i will go over the car more thoroughly.

I have a 68 A/C car and yes a big difference in firewalls.

Seriously? He wants $5k for a 4-speed big block 69 Charger and people are complaining? My biggest concern would be that pile of Bondo in the quarter but I don't see much rust or bad body damage. (Of course, I am looking at pictures on the internet!) The grill looks mostly solid (but bent) and it comes with seats. If the transmission is in it and hooked up you have almost $5k in parts already. I'm guessing that motor came out of a C-body or something (the original engine didn't last long in most 4-speed cars) and they kept the compressor so the belts would fit. If shipping isn't a hassle and it has a clean title I'd probably grab it - especially if he will deal a little on the price. I've seen much worse cars sell for a lot more.

Check the body numbers against the tag. At least a few things are questionable. No matter, if the VIN matches the body you can just save the tag somewhere for posterity.

Huh?  You were the one who posted up H15, the rest of us were talking about H51 before that.
