THE COLONEL

Any car guys know what may be causing this? The car runs fine now, but not if this is due to a bad ignition now? It does not want to crank all the way over, then I can turn the key and get nothing at all, and then it will finally start. The Electronic ignition was just changed. That was the problem before.....now this.

Take a screwdriver and use it to jump across the two large terminals on the starter relay.

If it will crank reliably that way then the problem is with the relay, ignition switch, neutral safety switch or the wiring between them.

If you still have problems getting it to crank then check the wiring and connections at the battery and starter.  If you don't find a problem there then you probably have a bad starter.

It's not a midlife crisis, it's my second adolescence.

Had the same problem....assuming all the connections are clean, its most likely a bad starter (go with a mini starter for replacement, much better and cheaper too!)

Sometimes i had to sit there and crank the key back and forth for minutes, other times i just gave up and started whacking the starter when it would happen.

Get it to not crank again and smack the starter while someone cycles the key.

yeah like others said  , check for   loose connections  , battery terminals / starter relay wiring , conections  on the starter motor  its self
:yesnod:

if all that checks out , like what was mentioned too , when it dont start ,  smack the starter with a hammer ! :yesnod: see what happens
