Anyone ever have to repair their bench seat?

On the drivers side there's a post that sticks out and is supposed to prevent the seat back from reclining too far, mine is broke at the weld. anyone ever have to deal with anything like this???

My brother's Chevelle needs such a thing repaired...   I havent tackled that yet - but looks straight forward.
