Did Lynch Road get it wrong?

Hello,

I have a 1971 Dodge Charger Rt that has a Paint code For GY8 it is on the fender tag and on both build sheets etc.
Now the cars build date on the door sticker is 11-70 and on the fender tag stamped  C01. which is for Dec of 70.
Now all that being said if you take all the actual color charts I have from 70 and 71. The paint color beneath the carpet and underneath
some of the gap sealer with a little bit of buffing is a 1970 Gold Ird Y6 not even close to the GY8 on the tag. What does the brain trust of this site think. I believe some one screwed up and I am just wondering if anyone has had a similar story.
