Hello,

I am currently restoring the Magnum 500 wheels on my 69 Charger.  When I stripped the paint off the rim, I noticed that the nickel plating was all the way to the edge where the outside part of the rim gets welded to the center "spoked" section.  Was the nickel plating supposed to be totally visible when the trim ring was on or was it supposed to have about an 1/8" thick semi flat black paint line on it?  My rims had the 1/8" thick black paint line prior to removing the old paint but I am not certain if someone repainted the rims over the 30+ years life of my charger.  Can anyone point me out to what was correct from the factory?

Thanks,

Brian

To the best of my nolage, you should see all the nickle plating. When I repainted the ones I had, that's  the way I did it cause thats they way they were on my car.
