68 headlight bezels attachment

how do the 68 headlight bezels attach to the grille? I was wondering if I could fit them to my 70 - of course I'm going to repaint them to match the 70 grille.

Is the metal plate where the headlights mount to the same ftom 68 to 70?

Are you referring to the bezels that are behind the headlamp doors?
They are attached with long phillips sheetmetal screws that go into the metal headlamp panel. Not sure if they would work on a '70, you'd have to compare how large the metal headlamp panel is with the bezel. In '70 they are part of the fender, on '68-'69's they are part the the metal header panel.
The ribbed design is compatible with '68-'69, '70's are different due the the horizontal center divider.

Yes, I'm referring to the bezels that go behind the headlamp doors. if they use long sheetmetal screws I should be able to make them fit to my 70. I know that the design is different but I was planning on adding the two horizontal lines to make it look like it belongs there. I will post a pic when I'm done.

If they don't fit then it should be an easy mod to make them fit. 

I have a few on my bench right now and I'd like to find a really crappy set so I can modify them to look like they belong on a 69.  It's way waay down on the list of things to do though.

IIRC he painted 68 bezels to match the 69 grille. These things were 68 only.

Yep, I have 'em on my '69 as well. Painted them to match.
