I'm going to swing shift for a month. Painter on swing is having a baby and wants to spend some time with family. I hate swings, been there done that. One positive thing is that there's no bosses on swings.

I asked for a day off at the end of the month and supervisor had to think about it for a while. Then he asked me if I would come in all the previous Fridays to do overtime. If I'm not dependable why is he asking me to do overtime? Does this make sense to anyone?
Also I've been never laid off since I've been working there 6+ years, while many other guys have been laid off multiple times and some of them they never called back either.
