I am aware there were other threads on this subject, but I had a question I did not find on any of them. Would it be better to swap from lean burn to electronic ignition or just swap right into a msd style ignition box? This is on the 78 new yorker I just picked up with a 440. :2thumbs:

myk

Either the MSD or stock electronic ignition is a good move to make.  Get the MSD if you buy into their multiple spark speech.  I have it in mine and I "think" it helps.  Now, someone correct me if I'm wrong but you need an electronic ignition if you're planning to run an MSD anyway, right?

I just switched from electronic to MSD. It seems to have made enough of a difference to justify the cost.
