I didn't think there was ever a 440-6 put in a charger? An Ebay ad says 96 built in 71. Any ever put in 2nd gen by the factory?

Also, what years for factory pistol grip shifter? You see them in 68's and 69's, but I don't think that is correct....

Thanks!

1970 got them, both the Six Pack and the Pistol Grip.  You are correct that 68 and 69 did not.

70 & '71 got both 6 packs and pistol grips if ordered correctly.

That is correct, nearly 700 of them with a nearly equal split between four speed and auto.

440-6 in 1970 was your "V" code. Rated at 390 HP. Reportedly could hang with the Hemi.  :2thumbs:

Pistol grip in the Charger 70 through 74 with 4 speeds. I imagine any 3 speed floor manuals got a ball?

Yes. 440-6bbl available in  70, 71 and 72 Chargers (VERY early 72 and damn few)
Pistol grip was available with four speed B and E bodies 70-74
Seeking information on '69 St. Louis plant VINs, SPDs and VONs. Buld sheets and tag pictures appreciated. Over 3,000 on file thanks to people like you.

Back in 73 a friend of mine had a red 70 R/T with a 440-6 pack that he wanted to trade me for my 67 F-100 and me take up his payments and I said no...Not long after that he wrapped it around a tree. I've always have regretted not doing the trade.
