Is a 74 Impala worth anything?

A friend of mine ended up with a 74 Impala after an aunt of his died and he's trying to figure out how to get rid of it. I told him they're a fairly big with the lowrider/rapper crowd, and I know of a local guy who does body work for those guys so I'll have to ask him. The good news is the car has a very good body/interior and there's only 20-some-odd thousand on the odometer. Bad news is the title has been lost for years and the engine is probably shot since it hasn't ran since probably the mid 90s.

Anyway, no pics but based on the description, do you think it's worth more than a grand? Is it worth even more to a guy with a set of 22s?

I don't think it's worth more than a grand.  As always hard to tell with no pics but a 74 Impala just isn't interesting, and the motor is N/G.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

Around here (Nebraska) they are HOT with the demo guys.  Lots of them will pay good money for a nice 74-76 ($1500-$3000) for a nice lower mileage Impala to drive and use.  Title deal kind of makes that tough, though.

"74 Impala worth anything?"

Yes, they are worth cleaning up and cruising...

Unfortunately no title might relegate this one to parts car or demo...

It's a two door. :shruggy: No title and the engine is shot. :P He's going to call a few of these lowrider paint shops and see if anyone is looking.

Since he has $0 in it might as well try the bumper dragging crowd.

No title, cant even scrap it. Cant do anything with it till you get a title. Maybe cut in to little pieces and put a few in trash each week. The executor of the estate can get a replacement title from the DMV. Then he will have something, maybe just a work car, but something. Small block Chevy engine will run again with minor work, if it aint wet inside. If no one is willing to get a title I would leave it be at the Aunts house.
