Tried something new with my guitar playing---recordings

I bought a piece of gear back in December that let's me record multiple layers of my guitar work. So I've been messing around with it a lot lately and I've been making some sound file videos while doing so. What I do is I'll go online and find a backing track for a song (minus guitars), record it onto the first tracking then record my guitar work over top of that. I figured I'd share them with you guys and get some feedback on the them. I do have to work on mixing the sound levels better with my guitars and the backing track however I'm still new to this whole "studio recording" type set-up. Usually in my past I have just done videos with a camera. I'd like to think it's a step forwards in my future career I got 2 done so far with a few more in the making. Thanks guys!


Sweet Child 'O Mine- I did this in one recording. I honestly wanted to plug in, hit record and go for it and see the results. I was quite happy with them so I chose to use it. This is all raw playing, no major mixing.....just one shot, one take

Wanted Dead or Alive- This is the first one I did. It took a lot of time because of the different guitar work in it. I have 4 different tracks and recording sessions all put into this one. Once I got the backing track set up, I did the acoustic with a 12 string Fender I bought on Boxing Day (it's opened my eyes to a whole other side of music). After that I went and recorded the distoration guitar part that goes from the end of the solo until the end of the song. Then I recorded the acoustic part at the end of the song and lastly, I recorded the solo.

Going Down in Flames- 3 Doors Down- the regular song doesn't have a guitar solo. I've played along to this song many times and decided the break down near the end would be the perfect part where they should of put a guitar solo....but they didn't. So I came up with my own which you'll hear in the recording...

I went searching after watching your clips and it's inspired me to find a few 'guitarless' tunes to practice to.
