Grease is the word

The grease that I'm using for all of the new tie rod components, anti sway bar, etc is Amzoil synthetic, lithium based, multi purpose, high temp, high pressure, #2, GC-LB.

It's red.

From what I've researched so far, it should be fine for chassis points, steering components, etc.  It says so on the label.

What is driving me crazy is the mess that it's making. It leaks from the gun so bad that I have to keep the gun in a bucket :flame:.  I'm getting red spots on the floor below the zirks (sp). :eek2:  What is up with this stuff?

Am I using the wrong grease?  Should I be looking for a darker type like it all was years ago?  I figure things have changed along the way, but this stuff is just pissing me off.

That's a fine grease, but as you see comes with some annoyance. For suspension, I just use a plain traditional grease (brand name like Valvoline or Shell) since it doesn't have a lot of heat to deal with. For bearings, I use only Synthetic red.

Hmmm. OK.

Looks like I've got a grease gun to clean out.   Again.

Thanks.

I don't know, I have a gun (which needs replaced anyhow, suggestions?) that is filled with the plain old black stuff and it leaks too. Not as bad as you describe though.

Yeah, and it's kinda wintery now.....I can't imagine what it's gonna do when summer hits. :-\

I get that periodically especially when I put a new cartridge into the gun.  I think it has to do with the grease separating.
