Man, Why did it take you so long to start this thread? This is what this site is for.    This is really cool and thanks again.       It would be cool to have a "how to rebuild a Charger" section with a complete basic rebuild using your pics with others.  Like a start to finish so to speak.    :2thumbs:

Keep em coming.

Yeah that would be awesome, there is a book for that i have one for a 70 charger pretty cool!

I'm interested! Keep the photos coming.

You may need to enlist home economics class for the upholstery sewing; that's where I learned to sew. Not sure if they offer that class anymore.... Or maybe they call it something PC like tech.

I'm a grey hair now, but one of my school teachers had a positive impact on me, like your going to have on your school. Good job man!

More photos please.

You can only learn so much from reading a book.  There is nothing like getting your hands dirty and wielding a torch and a panel cutter to get some REAL experience in how to do this kind of work.  This is where theory and work get together.

O.K. Fellers, I will post some more pics tomorrow.  I am at the in laws right now..... :brickwall: :D

The car was real rusty, and in the next set of pics we will really see ugly, I mean toyota frame ugly LOL!!!!!

As far as the rest of the build, the car will remain a b engine ( 431) and We are thinking of victor heads ( standard port).  Does anyone have an 18 spline tranny and/or a Dana 60 for sale?  Hint Hint!!!!
You've never heard of a Hudson hornet ? !

I applaud you and what you are doing to teach those kids a skill.  It was in a high school auto class that my son learned much of what he is applying now in restoring our Chargers.  Are you going to restore it back to the original build?  If your 68, 383 c.i., 4-speed came with a 4 bbl carb, it is a pretty valuable and rare combination - only 259 were made in that configuration.
Side note - the shifter looks a little odd.  Most of them came with a Hurst shifter that came straight up out of the floor. :scratchchin:
Hello. That style of shifter is for console equiped cars. Cars without console had the straight up design.
