Miller, all I have to say is that you get what you pay for. for my job I use Millers and Lincolns but I didn't buy them so I dont know the cost! just keep in mind that if you want quality you will pay for it one way or the other... eather in spare parts, down time, rework, or in the worst case destroying what your cutting. as we all know on some things you only have one chance at doing it right. how much is a new fender that you have to replace cuz, your plasma kept shutting off every 3 inches and now its all hacked and warped with 10 stops and starts? an extra hundred or two might be worth it in the long run. some of my guys prefer to use the miller and some of them prefer the Lincoln. ask how much the consumables are you may pay a fortune for one brand and another brand will be pocket change. Availability can be a down fall to. if you buy an off brand are you waiting 2 weeks for a cone or tip to be on special order to cut another foot before your project is done? there are a lot of variables and depends on how much you can spend.
Restoring a charger is like a saying I heard along time ago "I never said it would be easy, I only said it would be worth it".... Jesus I wish I could remember who said that...

harbor fright, chinese freight, or what ever you call it has one for $650 but i would spend a bit more for a miller, lincoln, or hobart product...

Another vote for a Miller unit

miller is the best, but since their cheapest unit availble runs around $1247, its not exactly homeowner price lol and lincoln is worse.
ive been looking around and saw the 3 in 1 stick, arch mma, and plasma cutter i found this one and ones similar

1 year warrenty and everything except sticks and plug for electric 110 and 220
the newer version of that welder is about $900 and its red, what do yall think? anyone know about lotos or mtn gearsmith machines?
thanks yall
and sears has a $150 hobart plasma cutter with a free $120 welding cart, which has me a little concerned

I saw winning bid was $398...  I think it was, my old garage duty Hobart early 90's 110v cheapo Mig welder died, I can't spend a ton of money, on the really good unit right now $1200-$1500+ minimum, I'm looking too, curious were it's made & by whom... I watched a couple of schmoes using & remaking on how pleased they were with quality & price on a video after Google search  Everlast 50D 3-in 1 cutter, it seems to perform nice... I'm still very skeptical though always used Lincoln, Miller or Hobart machine in the past...
