Glove Box Bumper Installation Ideas

Slowly putting the dash together on my '72. Anyone have any ideas on installing these little rubber bumpers? I usually use a pointy screwdriver and push them through, don't really want to do that this time as the frame is newly painted and don't want to scratch anything.

I used a little bit (a very little bit) of silicone grease on mine and basically just kept turning and applying pressure until they went in.

or if you have  space  on the back , grip the thin bit with long nose pliers &  gently pull it through  while pressing on the front !!  like Ghoste says  lube it up first
