from 1970moparmann... Who here has the rank of Eagle Scout? I received my Eagle at age 17 now ten years later I wish I could remember a quarter of which i was taught back in the day. The values and standards you learn through it would really help the world out if we all fallowed them... :Twocents: just wondering who here is an Eagle Scout

Got my Eagle at 15. My dad is also an Eagle Scout as well as my uncle. Now my 8 year old has decided he wants to do Cub Scouts.

I just wish that I had stuck in Boy Scouts even after getting my Eagle Scout. Instead I only stayed for 6 months afterwords to get a palm.

Put me down for a Life only also. Had all the requirements done, just didn't want to do the paperwork.
I guess my priorities were different at 17.  ;)

congrats to all of you! it is a high goal when your 12-17 I love flipping through the old hand book. wow there is so much you had to learn! yet i have forgot most of it by now. back in the day I was told that if we were of an Eagle rank then if you ever enlisted into the services it was an extra 100 dollars a month for it. is or was that ever true? if so do they still offer that in army, navy, air force, marines? it is a wonderful addition to resumes i believe. it shows that you know the basics, if not in great detail, to following instruction, leadership, ranking, self worth/achievement, god and country to mention a few. just like what all the protective services of this fine country stands for... or stood for. (depends who you ask) looking back it has, in a sense made me who i am today... just to give you a line of history my self my dad both grandpas my two brothers three uncles eleven of my first cousins and nine of my second cousins that i can remember all have received there eagle rank. of course i know five of those were under the stipulation of getting eagle before there drivers license... or no license! including my two brothers. i on the other hand was the baby in the family and dad let that slide. i received mine two days before i turned eighteen which is the deadline.... first aid and rope tieing were my favorite i wish i still knew how to read a compass. what were/are your favorite memories?

:2thumbs: My oldest son (24) is an Eagle, my middle son (15) is working on his project as I type. My youngest son (8) just started Cub Scouts, but he'll probably get there too. Me? I only made it to Wolf or Bear as a Cub Scout...I admire all those who get their Eagle...

I got my Eagle in 1992 @ 16.  My grandfather was an Eagle scout also and I was lucky enough to be able to have him travel to be at my ceremony and the council allowed me to have my grandfather present me with my Eagle.  I without a doubt will have my son involved in scouting, it was one of the best things I did in my life.

Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds. The mediocre mind is incapable of understanding the man who refuses to bow blindly to conventional prejudices and chooses instead to express his opinions courageously and honestly.  ~A. Einstein

I receivd mine in 2002, my bother a few years later. Im very proud to say that three of my best friends are, one of them passed away in January at the age of 26 from a heart attack. This summer the Town of Babylon on Long Island renamed the basketball quarts that he repainted and other repairs he was responcible for after him, They now have a bench and a plaque with his name on it to remember him.
