need to sand off all the old paint so i can fix and repaint my grill.

any howto instructions appreciated

Spray down the grille in oven cleaner (let it sit awhile, make sure you get the good one, not the "safer" for you one), it'll take off the old paint and not harm the plastic. You can than scuff it up and respray the color of your choosing.

:2thumbs: "Easy Off" is my weapon of choice.  Good luck.

Check out all the grille resto area here, it's fantastic and has the answers!

where?  is a link missing or is it on this site  I typed in grill and read the posts but didn't
get as much information as I wanted

oven cleaner sounds great    there is metal on the edges isn't there?  do I take that off and if
so how  just don't want to mess up a nice grill that only needs paint to be really good

If all of the perimeter trim is in good shape and still shiny, take it off before you apply EasyOff. If you don't this, the stuff will remove all the anodizing. Of course, you are required to post "in process" pictures or you won't qualify for the forum's secret decoder ring and 70 virgins.

How do you get the trim off safely?  it is pretty nice now and I don't want to mess it up
I will get some pic and post soon  I have some of the charger before we painted and we are slow getting finished but it LOOKS SWEET :drool5:

does anyone have a good way to take the drip rail off  the shop mangled the one they tried and I didn't do much better  fixable but I would rather not screw them up to start with
