I have a 3rd gen and am going to be wheel and tireless for a while. I was wondering about where to place the jack stands on the front suspension. Should I place them on the subframe or the lower control arm? The car could be setting for quite a while on stands. Any help will be appreciated. I tried searching but only found a post concerning the rear axle. Thanks in advance folks.

The safest thing I found so far is to cut up railroad ties to use to block up car.
You could probley put some heavy wood blocks under the brake drums so if it did fall off jack stands it wouldn't hurt anything or anyone.Blocks under the rearend and k frame too.
As long as suspension is supported level it should be the same as if wheels were on if that makes any sence. As for jackstands be very careful they are dangerous and unstable I would use heavy wood blocks all around.I never had a car fall off  wood railroad tie blocks yet.Just make sure the wood isn't rotten and railroad ties are treated not to rot for a long time.

I would put the load where the tires put it so under the K frame or control arms
